OneArc

OneArc is a service that provides users with up to date information about their area during an emergency and the ability to request help from people nearby. It uses crowdsourcing to collect data from users and displays the gathered data on a map. (Very similar to Waze for traffic, or Citizen for crime). Not only will it display incoming information, it will also allow users to request help. This means that people nearby will see on the map where others are and what type of assistance they need. (Ex: Trapped in a home by flooding). It will help authorities have a clearer idea of what is currently happening and where the most assistance is needed. If a user has a slow connection or very little data, the service will switch to a messaging bot. Since text messaging takes the least amount of data and battery life this would be very useful in a disaster, by allowing the user to still be able to request help.
