OPANAL (Agency for the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons in Latin America and the Caribbean) is a regional organization created with the objective of promoting nuclear weapons non-proliferation in Latin America and the Caribbean 🌎. As an international organization, we focus on strengthening the Treaty of Tlatelolco, the first nuclear-weapon-free zone treaty in a densely populated area of the world. Our work encompasses promoting nuclear energy for peaceful purposes, developing measures to prevent illicit trafficking of nuclear materials, and collaborating with other international organizations to promote nuclear safety. OPANAL is committed to building a world free of nuclear weapons and works tirelessly to ensure that Latin America and the Caribbean remain a nuclear-weapon-free zone.
