Operation Community Cares was founded by Ryan J Orr as a way to let our deployed military personnel know that they were loved & appreciated by those of us at home, and to provide them with a little bit of the comforts of home, while they are defending our freedoms. We also give the community a way to participate in supporting our deployed military personnel.
As a completely grassroots, volunteer organization we depend on the local communities to gather items to ship, provide the funds to pay for the shipping, and get us the names and addresses of their family members & friends who are deployed.
We hold multiple "Pack Day" events every year, with the support of our local communities, to pack the care packages that we then ship to deployed service members, and have averaged 2500 care packages per year for the last several years.
