Open Banking is showing around the world the tremendous benefits if adopted by the financial ecosystem. Many countries and regions adopt the open banking framework to simulate competitiveness and provide new innovative financial services to consumers.
The open banking ecosystem needs the involvement of all stakeholders (central bank, financial institutions, Mobile Money, fintech...) to define standards that will speed up implementation. Furthermore, Open Banking comes out with new security and privacy challenges that require consideration at a regulatory level.
The Open Banking Morocco Initiative would like to promote the benefits of open banking adoption by analyzing the need of the industry for such standards and defining use-cases as expected by financial stakeholders. The next step will be defining standard APIs and regulatory requirements to be adopted as a national framework to accelerate implementation.
