Open Farming

Nothing in an ecology should constitute a monopoly, especially in the sector identified by the Stockholm Resilience Centre as the nexus of the SDGs — the agri-food sector. Monopoly rights / intellectual property rights frustrate the rich information flows that characterize healthy ecologies. Open Farming increases our capacities to farm wisely and feed ourselves well by making one small but vital and catalytic change — replacing monopoly rights under legal code with revenue share under software code, to the benefit of all stakeholders, including innovators of course. It’s good for regenerative agriculture, and good for business.
