Open Claims Program

The automotive glass repair and replacement industry is a multi-billion dollar sector, yet it is plagued by inefficiencies, biases, and a lack of transparency in claims processing. This white paper proposes the creation of the Open Claims Program (OCP), an independent, non-biased, open-source managed third-party administrator (TPA) that leverages eDirectGlass ClaimsVerse technology to revolutionize the automotive glass claims process. The OCP is committed to fostering fairness and equity within the automotive glass repair and replacement industry. We recognize the complexity of this sector, encompassing various factors that influence pricing and service delivery. The OCP believes in flexible pricing that goes beyond relying solely on the National Auto Glass Specifications (NAGS) benchmark. While NAGS provided an industry starting point many decades ago, we recognize that it may or does not always reflect the true costs and complexities of individual jobs. The Open Claims Program represents a paradigm shift in the automotive glass claims industry. By embracing transparency, efficiency, and open-source collaboration, the OCP aims to create a fairer, more equitable, and more efficient claims process for all stakeholders.
