openCurrents is an Austin based startup developing the worlds first alternative currency generated by social action.
We enable nonprofits to reward volunteers with a digital currency - the Current. On the other hand, we have developed a seamless, hassle-free way for businesses to accept Currents in order to attract new customers and increase loyalty by valuing the time they give back.
openCurrents is a team of four experienced co-founders with a diverse background including a Ph.D. in computer science, masters from Yale in social entrepreneurship, a statistician, and a specialist in marketing. openCurrents was incorporated in May 2017 and released it's public beta on January 15th, 2018.
