The open source BIM Collective was an informal collaboration between several developers of open source BIM tools. It was operational from 2010 till mid 2019.
Founding partners BIMserver.org, BIM Surfer, IfcOpenShell teamed up with FreeCAD, GeometryGym and BCF Server. The idea was to focus on individual specialism (database, visualization, geometry, etc) while maintaining a close connection to other tools, to be able to offer an integrated solution.
Now that the open source community is well established, and the tool have found their way into commercial applications, the collective no longer served a formal purpose.
