About Opera Scholars Australia
Founded in 1998, Opera Scholars Australia is a leading professional development program for young classical singers, providing unparalleled performance opportunities for talented young artists. Based in Melbourne, OSA offers up to 25 scholarships each year to classical singers between 18 and 24 years of age, providing extensive training and performance experience throughout Victoria and interstate. OSA provides our young singers with a community in which to grow and develop their craft. Providing our scholars with the chance to perform in various locations throughout Victoria and in various capacities, such as large-scale outdoor events, intimate concerts and corporate functions, allows them the opportunity to put into practice the skills they may be studying or are getting from their vocal teachers and coaches. This program also provides our scholars with industry knowledge, acting workshops, vocal masterclasses, headshots and performance photography in order to build their professional portfolio early in their career.
