About Operational Excellence in Manufacturing Program - UOA

Operational Excellence in Manufacturing is a lifelong learning program which is aimed to executives of industrial companies, as well as graduates of higher and secondary education who wish to work in the industrial sector. The project is divided into three pillars. The trainee can choose to attend one pillar or all of them. Pillar 1: Lean Manufacturing The main purpose of this pillar is to present the basic principles, tools and methodologies of Lean Manufacturing, i.e. a production system that aims at developing products of high value with low conversion cost. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide trainees with the acquired knowledge and skills in order to strengthen the role of Greek industry in the modern global arena, contributing thus to the mitigation of the de-industrialization observed in our country. Pillar 2: Safety Management & Environmental Protection The purpose of this pillar is to present the basic principles, tools and methodologies applied in the areas of Occupational Safety, Process Safety and Environmental Protection in Manufacturing firms. The ultimate goal of the program is to provide trainees with the necessary methods and tools to support the companies/organizations in their efforts to create a safe and sustainable working environment that supports their economic growth. Pillar 3: Industry 4.0 & Smart Factory The main purpose of this pilllar is the presentation of the basic principles, tools and methodologies that make up the "Smart Factory" as well as the structural elements of its implementation through Manufacturing Excellence practices and principles.
