Through these gateways, any individual with a connection to blockchains that Ophir supports will be given the freedom to move gold across borders within a matter of minutes. The OPR, Ophir's digital token, is backed by 1 gram of real gold per unit. The company has chosen gold as its equivalent value because of its practical hedge against inflation and versatility as a financial instrument. OPR transactions are fee-less, Sharia compliant, and transferable across blockchain networks with adequate internet and blockchain protocol access. Ophir has begun coordinating with relevant remittance partners to allow for withdrawals and remittances at a minimum of 500 grams per transaction.
