OptFORESTS

OptFORESTS is a European project funded by the Horizon Europe programme. Its main goal is to support the protection and sustainable use of forest genetic resources (FGR) in Europe by enhancing cooperation and knowledge sharing to promote climate change adaptation and biodiversity-friendly forestry practices. The project will contribute to the EU's strategic goal of restoring ecosystems and biodiversity while ensuring sustainable management of natural resources. It aims to provide new research and policy support on the role of FGR in enhancing biodiversity, managing forest ecosystems sustainably, improving forest product supply chains, and supporting the tree nursery sector.
