From 2012 to 2019 (until its shutdown), OptiCits was a pioneering startup, spin-off from IQS-Universitat Ramon Llull, which developed a novel methodology to assess urban risks and resilience named HAZUR. This methodology was integrated into a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution for the urban tech market, aimed at evaluating urban resilience and simulating cascading effects using algorithms. Large companies, other start-ups, public administrations, and urban multilateral organizations were inspired by its product and its holistic approach to manage crisis and emergencies. HAZUR was opened up to the urban resilience community through online training programs, fostering a community of smart and resilience city professionals and partners.
