Brian A. Selvan, Esq. supports those experiencing a dispute. He listens to the parties, clarifies the differences, and works for a resolution serving the best interests of both sides. Brian attended his first mediation over 20 years ago. The case involved workplace and domestic violence at a school campus, breach of contract, and wage claims and seemed almost certain to go to trial. As a junior attorney (just out of law school), Brian was impressed with the power of mediation to allow the parties to move past their differences. He has never forgotten that case and has remained interested in alternative dispute resolution throughout his career. Since that first experience, Brian has been involved in hundreds of mediations in different capacities representing both plaintiffs and defendants. He has worked as an attorney and litigator in “big firm” law, as Vice President and Senior Attorney with a publicly traded technology company, and as a solo practitioner. After participating in intensive training from the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law and training through the Superior Courts in both Orange County and Los Angeles County, Brian has facilitated mandatory settlement conferences and private mediations with great success. Brian is passionate about helping people in conflict to find creative solutions to disputes.
