Orbit Commerce

Orbit Commerce, Inc. provided payment, hosting, and outsourced application services to the financial, retail, and Web developer industries. The business ran as a service bureau (an early SaaS innovator) which allowed the company to offer turnkey, outsourced solutions to merchants on an economical monthly and/or transaction fee-basis. This enabled merchants to set up fully-functional eCommerce websites without the need for purchasing expensive hardware, software or bandwidth. As of September 14, 2001, Orbit Commerce, Inc. was acquired by Digital River Inc.
