ORCD Afghanistan

ORCD established in 2011, is a leading Afghan NGO registered with Afghanistan’s Ministry of Economy. ORCD is the first and only Afghan NGO with Special Consultative Status with the UN/ECOSOC since 2015. ORCD partners with seven governmental institutions and is a trusted implementing partner for seven UN agencies: UNODC, UNHCR, UNDP, WFP, WHO, UN Women, and UNOCHA. Certified by the Afghanistan Institute of Civil Society (AICS), ORCD is a top Afghan NGO. It has delivered the Basic Package of Health Services (BPHS) in Ghazni (2017–2020), Zabul (2017–2018), Sarepul (2017–2018), and the Kabul Urban Health Project. ORCD has also built annex buildings in Ghazni, Zabul, Baghlan, and Laghman to upgrade hospitals and health facilities. As a Facilitating Partner, ORCD supports the National Solidarity Program, Citizen Charter National Priority Program, and EZ-Kar Karmondana, advancing community development. An elected member of the Humanitarian Country Team (HCT), ORCD co-chairs the Health Cluster and its Strategic Advisory Group (SAG) and serves on the Steering Committee of the Alliance of Health Organizations, reinforcing its sector leadership. ORCD has implemented ~120 medium- to large-scale projects and manages nine ongoing initiatives in health, rural development, women’s empowerment, livelihoods, refugee support, and education, driving sustainable impact across Afghanistan.
