The Order of Saint James of Holland was established in 1290 by Count Floris V of Holland, founded as a chivalric order. The Order is currently an international dynastic order associated with the House of Bentheim, which is regarded as the legal successor of the Counts of Holland. Its objective is the preservation of chivalric norms and values.
