ORO Exchange

ORO eXchange is an ESG-focused digital marketplace for materials and commodities, dedicated to the concept of "profit with purpose". Established in 2019, this German-Brazilian Fintech operates in São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, and the Amazon region of Brazil. The platform is transforming the recycling process by initiating it directly at consumers’ homes. ORO eXchange has developed an advanced, end-to-end system that simplifies the return and recycling of post-consumption waste. Consumers utilise Bolsa ORO (ORO Bags) to collect recyclable materials, which are then transported efficiently to repurposing or recycling facilities using idle capacity on existing routes. Each bag is tracked via geo-positioning, and participants in the recycling process receive automatic compensation through the ORO PAY digital wallet. In Brazil, the recycling sector is largely managed by informal waste pickers and cooperatives, leading to a recycling rate of just 4% for urban waste materials. In contrast, Germany achieves a 63% recycling rate. ORO eXchange aims to address this disparity by bringing the consumer to the table to participate directly. Currently, the platform facilitates the trading of post-consumption plastic waste. Future plans include incorporating additional soft commodities and materials from remote areas of Brazil, connecting sellers with buyers in an automated efficient manner.
