The Île-de-France Regional Health Observatory (ORS ÎdF), funded by the State and the Region, is a department of the Paris Region Institute. At the disposal of the representative of the State in the region and the Île-de-France Regional Council, it carries out, in complete scientific independence, a wide range of work to observe, monitor and anticipate the health of Île-de-France residents, its specific characteristics and its social and environmental determinants, at different geographical scales. Its aim is to provide useful information for the development of regional health policy, taking into account the situation of the capital region. It carries out epidemiological analyses, constructs indicators, draws up literature reviews and participates in working groups, etc. When information is lacking or patchy, they may be asked to carry out quantitative or qualitative surveys in the Paris region or on a larger scale. It also has expertise in spatial data analysis and is involved in the Île-de-France geographical health information system.
Its presence within the Paris Region Institute encourages ongoing dialogue with all the other thematic departments and facilitates the mobilisation of multidisciplinary teams.
