OSD Chief Information Officer

In September 2022, the Deputy Secretary of Defense established the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD) Chief Information Officer (CIO) organization within the office of the Director of Administration and Management (DA&M) with a simple, yet ambitious, vision – to deliver a world-class information technology (IT) experience as an OSD enterprise to enable the highest levels of Department of Defense (DoD) leadership decision making. OSD CIO is empowered to lead and advocate for OSD IT, a critical enabler for mission success. OSD CIO will: - Ensure the fitness of OSD’s IT enterprise through strategy, governance, performance management, and resource management - Lead the strategic modernization of the OSD IT enterprise, ensuring IT service providers meet evolving stakeholder requirements - Advocate for OSD IT resources and capabilities and serve as the authoritative interface with IT service providers to enhance the user experience - Maximize use of technology to support the workforce of the future, whether in the office or remote work
