Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) is the interdisciplinary sector with multidimensional origin and its goal is directed in fostering a safe and healthy work environment in Nepal. The scope defines three major sectors, 1) government, 2) the industries/ employers and 3) the workforce/trade unions. The organization will believe on professional, progressive and productive (3P) integrity and always emphasized on their contribution with high moral, ethical and socially responsible and inspire them to serve as an active practitioner for national development. The organization will always maintain and promotes its core value Independent, Integrity, Trusty, Cooperative and Transparency. The organization will function in close cooperation and coordination with the government sectors, non-government organizations and corporate sector in Nepal as well as other similar interest groups. This organization will base on a firm foundation of the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
2. Objectives
•To organize OSH professionals for the protection of their rights and ethical value.
•To contribute for strengthening and establishing OSH issues into the priority of the concern stakeholders at three tier (Central, Province and Local level) and all economic/industrial sectors through advisory services in respect to policy, education and implementation.
•To develop professional cooperation and collaboration among the relevant national and international organizations (GOs, NGOs, Academia, Private Sector, Trade Unions, Development Partners, International agencies).
•To work and contribute towards establishing certification systems for professionals based on the education, experiences, skill and efforts.
•To organize capacity building, advocacy and promote competence-based activity for OHS professionals through various means such as education, campaign, research, seminars for all concerns.
•To work for developing harmonic relation among all the organizations and professionals.
