About OSIX Pty Ltd

OSIX was formed in early 1992 by three ex-IBM Australia employees, David Reisner, Rob Davies and Ben Seaman. The initial direction was quite broad, basically to provide UNIX and network integration and implementation services and products in Open Systems computing environments. During the 1990s OSIX developed a reputation as the go-to player in Australia for organisations migrating their core systems from IBM mainframes running MVS to new platforms and particularly the IBM UNIX operating system, AIX. OSIX saw significant growth during the mid to late 90s and in 1997 was the IBM Asia Pacific UNIX (RS/6000) reseller of the year, winning 5 awards. After almost a decade of achievement and growth, OSIX was acquired in November 2000 by Boston based global consulting firm, Cambridge Technology Partners.
