Founded in 2018, OTTek is an Israeli medical device startup company that is developing the C-Clear™ - a proprietary GI endoscopy solution, that helps the physician evacuate residues in the colon in case of poor prep, and successfully complete the colonoscopy, eliminating the need for a second procedure.
Every year, about 40 million people worldwide, of which about 16 million in the United States alone, undergo colonoscopy, a medical examination of the gastrointestinal tract to diagnose colon cancer.
A successful colonoscopy test reduces the risk of colon cancer mortality by 88%.
C-Clear™’s advantages are: ease of assembly (simply attached on the endoscope), doesn’t limit the endoscope angulation range and excellent cleansing capabilities.
The use of C-Clear™ significantly improves the quality of imaging of the intestinal walls during the colonoscopy procedure and increases the ability to detect suspicious tissues thus allowing for early detection and life-saving in cases of cancerous tissues in the intestine.
C-Clear™’s unique features and capabilities, enable to change the complex and cumbersome paradigm of the preparation method currently used to perform before the procedure. By making the preparation easy, more patients will undergo the examination, thus allowing for early-stage detection of life-threatening conditions, potentially saving the lives of millions.
The team behind the innovative development of C-Clear™, is accompanied by the NGT incubator and works in collaboration with subcontractors, external consultants, and partners, including Prof. Haim Shirin - President of the Israeli Association of Gastroenterology.
The company is preparing (Q1 2022) for a clinical trial in humans and is in the process of submitting the product for FDA and CE approval.
The company is looking to market the C-Clear™ in the US, Europe and to join or collaborate with leading companies in the field of gastroenterology.
