The concept for the Otter bimetallic switch was developed in the 1940s when the founder experimented with bimetal controls to create thermostats for electrically heated flying suits for the RAF. Since its inception, Otter has remained independent and has built a reputation for quality, reliability, and, most importantly, innovation and product design. The Otter Group is still privately owned, with its head office in Buxton, Derbyshire, United Kingdom. This location now serves as the headquarters for the Otter Group, which includes manufacturing sites in the UK, Europe, India, and China.
