Otter Space XR

Otter Space XR is a creative space at the juncture of art, science, and technology. Named after a meme and created after a vision, Otter Space XR is a non-profit company that designs and develops interactive applications on the artistic, humanitarian, and playful spectrum of XR. Based in Athens, Greece, it was founded in 2023 by Renia Papathanasiou, Olga Chatzifoti, and Christina Chrysanthopoulou - an interdisciplinary team with great professional experience in immersive technologies dating back to 2013. Our entire team has an active, long-standing involvement in academia and industry with numerous innovative projects for festivals, exhibitions, conferences, as well as commerce. Otter Space XR was created to meet the need for a safe and free space that highlights another side of cutting-edge technology: one that can offer to society. We aim to raise awareness on key social, humanitarian, and political issues with our in-house productions on contemporary artistic practices, interactive immersive projects, and educational programs. To that end, our team also welcomes collaborations with non-profits, foundations, academic and research spaces, art-focused initiatives, and sensitive social groups. Furthermore, our team offers design, development and consultation services to related commercial projects in our areas of expertise, focusing on XR technologies, educational and/or artistic interactive applications and digital games.
