OutreachMAD Project 2.0

First of it's kind Project/Model that provides cybersecurity Work Based Learning activities to high school student (particularly girls) in rural, remote & IGP Utah. 16 Years journey OutreachMAD to OutreachMAD 2.0 cumulates Dr Kesar (AKA Dr K) outreach work at SUU within High Schools (HS) to increase awareness about education & career opportunities in cybersecurity & technology. Hence, now known as OutreachMAD 2.0! Motivation Awareness and Dedication (what was know as Diversity) is the core of these outreach activities. Now OutreachMAD 2.0 is a continuation of the series of outreach activities with the funding from Talent Ready Utah. WHY? We need to be role models for each other, examples for the younger generation, advocate for importance of education and career in fields like cybersecurity & technology, make a change in the low representation of females in these fields, motivate the students, increase confidence, make these activities accessible to remote, rural & IGP regions too! The OutreachMAD project awarded by Talent Ready Utah, a unique model, spearheaded by Dr. Kesar (AKA Dr. K) to provide work-based learning experiences for high school girls and Southern Utah University (SUU) cybersecurity students, particularly in rural, remote, and International Generational Poverty (IGP) counties. It aims in fostering inclusive opportunities in cybersecurity and empowering young women and students in underserved areas. As the PI of the project, Dr. K proposes to provide opportunities to both high schools students and SUU cybersecurity graduate students (e.g. paid internships) and involve industry members to participate in activities to educate and increase awareness about education and career opportunities in cybersecurity. The curriculum of the activities is targeted to educate young girls, but all high students are invited to all the activities.
