About Outsport
The Outsport Network is the international research and training branch of AiCS LGBTI, the SOGIESC-focused division of Associazione Italiana Cultura e Sport. Born as a legacy of the Outsport project (2017–2019), the first EU-funded initiative tackling discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity in sport, the Network continues to promote inclusion through education and advocacy. We envision a world where no one faces exclusion or discrimination due to their sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or sex characteristics—neither in sport nor in society. Our mission is to transform sport from a space where discrimination too often occurs into a driver for social change. Through our original Outsport method, we use Education Through Sport to deliver coaching and training that fosters diversity, inclusion, and community engagement. We specialize in training key figures who influence youth and adult development: Coaches and PE teachers Youth workers and educators Diversity consultants and team-building professionals We offer workshops, camps, and tailored programs for young people and adults, working closely with clubs, institutions, NGOs, and companies to co-create: Policies and inclusion guidelines Educational curricula Practical training tools and materials By combining research, training, and sport, the Outsport Network empowers communities to build a more inclusive future—on and off the field.
