Oyo State Home Grown School Feeding Program is a federal government initiative under the National Home Grown School Feeding Program domiciled in Oyo State, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. This program is aimed at delivering safe and nutritious meals to public primary school pupils (in primary 1 - 3 classes) in the state using foods locally grown by smallholder farmers in the state.
Other objectives of this program include;
-increasing enrollment and attendance of pupils
-improving the nutritional status of school-age children in Oyo State
-increasing local production of smallholder farmers
-boosting the economy of the state through job creation (cooks and supply chain)
