Our roots run deep in lime and limestone. We've been mining and marketing lime since 1925 - initially as Piquetberg & Bredasdorp Lime Works. Generations of customers have benefited from our high quality calcite lime. At first, the company focused on calcining limestone into lime for the building industry. In 1935 it started producing its renowned P&B Agricultural Lime. Production of Animal Feed Lime followed in 1995. P&B Agricultural Lime is nature's own soil booster. It creates the ideal conditions in the soil, to help you get the most from your fertilizer. That's because the pH level of the soil determines how much nitrogen, potassium, phosphorous and other plant nutrients are available for uptake by the plant. It also promotes the growth of microbes and modifies clays and heavy soils to become more workable. Available in bulk, mini-bulk (+- 500 kg) and 50 kg bags. P&B Feed Lime is made from calcitic lime, so its texture is porous and the particles are of a consistent size. This ensures that the vital nutrients are distributed more evenly throughout the feed while you mix it. Nutrients are more readily available for absorption by the animal. Available: 1 ton and 25kg bags. P&B Poultry Grit is high in calcium carbonate. In fact, it contains over 36% calcium. Calcium is the essential mineral that your animals need to thrive. Promotes bone structure and density, resulting in strong and healthy skeletal development; improves heart function and blood circulation plus increases enzyme activation & boosts neuromuscular action. Mix P&B Poultry Grit into your livestock, poultry & ostrich feeds. Available: 25kg bags. P&B freshly hydrated high-calcium Decarb Lime effectively removes CO2 expelled during the ripening of fruit/vegetables in cold storage. Simply place bags of P&B Decarb Lime on racks/pallets in the room, the CO2 is absorbed by the fine particles, thereby extending the shelf-life considerably. Available: 12,5 kg bags.
