Pace Debates

The organization was founded on March 22, 2021, by Founding President Jeremiah Williams and three Executive Board Members to advance the mission of empowering individuals to be confident in finding their voice and using it to make a profound impact. Through speech showcases, debate competitions, public speaking workshops, and civic engagement opportunities Pace Debates aims to offer enhanced public speaking skills and to encourage youth engagement in the civic process. The organization operates on two fronts: First, as a student community that facilitates weekly meetings, debate practice, and competition on Pace University's New York City Campus. Second, the organization partners with alumni, advocacy groups, elected officials, local K-12 schools, and after-school programs broadly across the New York City area to offer civic responsibility, career opportunities, and public speaking advising services.
