The Philadelphia Association for Couple and Family Psychology is a non-profit organization created to 1) provide a community of support and education for mental health providers of Couples and Family Psychology in the greater Philadelphia area, 2) provide a resource for professionals and laypeople looking to find a qualified Couple and Family Psychology providers and 3) provide a richer understanding of the importance of systemic thinking and the clinical impacts of systemic psychotherapy.
PSCFP is dedicated to create and support a network of Couple and Family Psychology providers within Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. This network, like any well-functioning system, would provide a source of strength, community and support for its members. This includes CEU lecture events, updates in mental health legislation and public policy, social gatherings and facilitated peer supervision groups as well as notifications of new and ongoing research opportunities.
The PSCFP website will be a resource for professionals and laypeople. For professionals, the website will serve as a community board with notifications of upcoming events as well as a social network style forum to post and respond to clinical, ethical and administrative questions. Potential clients will be able to explore listings of Couple and Family Psychology providers by geographic location, specialization and insurance/payment information. Lastly, the website will serve as a forum to provide information about the importance and need for a systemic focus within a comprehensive therapeutic intervention. This information will be directed to both professional and laypeople, providing a rationale and resource for the services we provide.
