Pacific Islanders in Communications is the only national public media organization thatʻs committed to supporting, advancing, and developing Pacific Island media content and talent that results in a deeper understanding of Pacific Island history, culture, and contemporary challenges. We do this through our various funding initiatives for independent full length non-fiction films and fiction/non-fiction short films, our broadcast signature series Pacific Heartbeat and online short film series Pacific Pulse. We also engage community members and leaders in deep discussion around subject matter covered in the films we support through our film series PIC Exchange and Deep Waters. Lastly we wouldnʻt be able to do this work without filmmakers, which is why we provide support around professional development for emerging filmmakers.
