Pacific & Orient started as a private limited company in 1994. It acquired Pacific & Orient Insurance (P&O Insurance), one of the largest Malaysian general insurers, and then went on to be listed on the Main Board of the Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 1995.
Since then, Pacific & Orient Berhad has diversified in business interests to include financial services and Information Technology services. These businesses have a common pool of human and information resources which the Group can capitalize on in its search for new business and investment opportunities.
The Group’s main focus is on the two core areas of financial services and Information Technology (IT). Consistent with this strategy, the group has branched out to build and develop businesses that support and contribute to the growth of these two core areas, especially IT since it is the gateway to the future of business.
