Pacific View Charter 2.0

Pacific View Charter School 2.0 (PVCS 2.0) came into existence on July 1, 2017. In 2016, a California Appeals Court Decision declared that Charter Schools could not have school sites outside their sponsoring district. Pacific View Charter School had two school sites located outside the boundaries of Loleta Union Elementary School District and inside the boundaries of Eureka City Schools. PVCS 2.0 has two school sites both are Independent Study schools. The first a K-6th grade program located at 115 Henderson Street in Eureka. The site has a Principal, 7 teachers, a Resource teacher, a librarian, a music teacher, and a Spanish teacher. Students attend core classes Monday through Thursday from 8:30 to 2:00. Students have the option to attend enrichment classes from 2:00 to 3:00 Monday through Thursday and on Fridays. The site offers an after school care and homework club and 5th and 6th-grade basketball, volleyball and track. The second site is a 7-12 grade program located at 2937 Moore Avenue and is administered by a Principal. The 7th and 8th-grade program is limited to Independent Study students who work off-campus and meet with the teacher once a week. The 9th through 12 programs has 4 teachers and a Resource teacher. Students have two options for attendance. First, to come on campus in the morning for the core classes, English, Math, Social Science, and Science. Learning Labs are scheduled after lunch for students to work independently on electives and credit recovery, tutoring is also provided. The afternoon also offers electives in ceramics, multi-media, creative writing, art, art appreciation, intro to electronics, LOGO programming, and Japanese Jujitsu.
