The PAICA, Program of Integral Attention of the Child and the Adolescent, has as proposal to welcome patients that have some mental disorder, such as: ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder), personality and mood disorder, learning disorder, invasive developmental disorder, among others.
The project was concepted by Dr. Sueli Cabral, psychiatrist, psychotherapist, master and doctor of mental health, specialist in childhood and adolescence, by UNICAMP; permanent member of the Adolescent Health Commission of the Secretary of State of São Paulo, Brazil, winner of the "Chico Mendes" award for services rendered for 26 years in the adolescent health commission; psychiatrist coordinator of the "Cartão Recomeço" in the "Instituto Padre Haroldo Rahm" in Campinas; specialist in the Treatment of Psychotics by the Raviére Ed Paris Institute - France; Head of Psychiatry at the Campinas Medical Center Foundation Hospital.
PAICA offers multidisciplinary care and through it develops several activities focused on individual care, carried out by a specialized team, with the purpose of providing therapeutic support to patients and their families, encouraging psychosocial rehabilitation and social inclusion, through principles of preservation of their identity and citizenship. The family also receives guidance and school support to continue the treatment. The proposal involving the school restructures family dynamics and enables parents to return to their activities.
