Pakistan Amateur Radio Society (P.A.R.S)

The Pakistan Amateur Radio Society (P.A.R.S) is a national charitable non-profit organization for amateur radio enthusiasts in Pakistan. It operates a QSL bureau for those amateur radio operators in regular contact with amateur radio operators in other countries and supports amateur radio operating awards and radio contests. It represents the interests of Pakistani amateur radio operators before national and international regulatory authorities. P.A.R.S is the national member society representing Pakistan in the International Amateur Radio Union. Radio amateurs known as "HAMs" all over the world have played an important role in natural disasters and emergencies like tsunamis, earthquakes, Floods and cyclones in different parts of the world. Most international relief agencies have a considerable number of HAM members who are responsible for establishing communication networks for relief activities. Recognizing the role of Pakistani HAMs in the 2005 Earthquake, 2010 Floods and 2019 Earthquake in Pakistan, PTA has recommended utilizing P.A.R.S members for emergency communication in case of any disaster or emergency. Despite limited resources, P.A.R.S has also been contributing to flooding relief activities in far-flung areas taking advantage of their radio communication expertise within the protocols defined by PTA. Moreover, P.A.R.S has been very instrumental in arranging informative classes/workshops for inducting new members for the last many years. These new members hail from various walks of life, including but not limited to, Doctors, Engineers, the Armed forces, Civil Services, Police, Judiciary & Lawyers etc which can contribute their own bit in case of any calamity.
