PANDRONE AI

Faced with the growing challenges of securing airport areas – intrusions, malicious acts, and their operational consequences – the PANDRONE AI project is positioned as an innovative response, combining autonomous drones and artificial intelligence. This initiative aims to develop the first automated and modular solution for airports perimeter and critical infrastructures surveillance. Supported by €3.7 million funding from the ANR (France 2030), this ambitious project brings together 17 actors from the Bordeaux and Nouvelle-Aquitaine ecosystem: academic institutions, technology companies, and security experts. Together, they are developing advanced technological components, that will be tested by the CESA Drones test center and then integrated by Omnitech Security into an industrialized and market-ready solution by 2028. The project benefits from the active involvement of four airports (Bordeaux-Mérignac, Basel-Mulhouse, Nice, and Lyon), which contribute to draw up the specifications and requirements, and will test the solutions in real conditions. An Advisory Board, composed of regulatory authorities and key stakeholders, is also supporting the project.
