Parallel Universe Pictures is a boutique Canadian film distribution company established in 2018 to meet the needs of prolific Canadian filmmakers who are producing feature films at the low budget level. Its principals are Heidi Tan and Rebeka Herron. Parallel Universe Pictures is committed to helping these filmmakers exploit their projects in a global market that seems to only favour big budget, cast-driven feature films. As fellow filmmakers, Heidi and Rebeka understand the challenges independent filmmakers face, and often work with producers as early as the development stage of their projects.
In May of 2018, Parallel Universe Pictures released the Canadian indie film, Nobody Famous, to a sold-out crowd at Cineplex Yonge-Dundas in Toronto. Parallel Universe currently has a variety of Canadian independent films at various stages on its slate and are excited to bring Canadian cinema to audiences around the world.
