Paratronix, a division of Kayaku Advanced Materials Inc., is a Parylene conformal coating job shop and manufacturer of Parylene coating equipment. Parylene is a vacuum deposition coating process providing a thin film, transparent, pinhole free, conformal coating. The coating is used for many devices for many reasons. I have listed some examples below. Parylene is resistant to mold, chemicals, sterilization (steam/gamma), moisture, salt spray, and other harsh environments. Many products such as sensors, circuit boards, transducers, magnets, and many other products are commonly coated for military, medical, and commercial products. Parylene can reduce the chance of tin whisker and dendrite growth on military and aerospace electronics Parylene has been used to retard the aging process of paper documents and provide protection from moisture, chemicals, and mold. Many silicone & rubber products are Parylene coated to reduce drag and protect print from wearing away. Medical implants and instruments are Parylene coated to provide voltage resistance, biocompatibility, pinhole free protection, dry film lubricity, and resistant to bodily fluids.
