PARCOVAL is a project funded by the Euratom Research & Training Programme that will demonstrate the catalytic potential of radioactive palladium (Pd) by recovering Pd from spent nuclear fuel (SNF) and using it as a catalyst to convert biogenic CO2 from existing industry into CO, which will be, in turn, valorised to produce a high-value chemical intermediate, succinic anhydride. It will run for four years starting in September 2024.
