Parisar Asha, is a 37 year non-profit organisation, under a registered trust committed to serve society through a unique learning approach ‘ESAL’- The Environmental Studies Approach to Learning. It was founded by Late Gloria D Souza with a mission to provide a joyful, holistic and child-centric environment-based quality education to empower children to be creative, sensitive and successful global citizens. Parisar Asha is truly a classless organization, it permeates every strata of sociey. Its activities cut across all levels in the socio-economic structure, to contribute to an educational system that works for the individual and humanity at large. In short , we touch all segments of society with our ESAL and 21st Century Skills. Our Achievements : • Mumbai Public School Programme with Naandi Foundation-28 English Medium BMC Schools. • Tribal Project sponsored by UNICEF in 27 ashramshala school in Jowahar, Mokhada and Shahapur talukas of Thane district. • Government run ‘ashramshala’ project in Kalwan, Baglan and SurganaNashik District. • Primary School intervention in Goa. • ‘Areas – Intensive Education Project’ in 30 English Medium Pre- Primary and • Primary Schools in Dadra and Nagar. • Non-formal education project for Balwadi Street and Working Children. • Workshops for Adivasi “Balwadi” Educators, Torpa Village, Ranchi District. • Developed Early Childhood Care and Education ( ECCE )Diploma Course for Bombay University. • In-service Training of Bombay Teachers. • Touched 700 schools in rural and urban area. We believe that education is a precious gift that offers our children the joy of exploratory learning, the confidence in discovering one’s strengths, the hope for a better future with 21st century life skills and an awareness of one’s right and personal space. Overall, a way of life that is worth living.
