Parity for Disability exists because when young people with multiple disabilities leave full-time education, the support they received as children dramatically declines. We are a Farnborough-based charity with over 25 years of experience providing opportunities and support. At our three day services in Farnborough, Mytchett and Camberley, 57 people (called students) aged 18+ from Hants, Surrey and Berks take part in tailored activities indoors and out, participating in the community and beyond.
Although we receive fees from local authorities, they do not cover all the costs of running Parity’s services. We must raise over £150,000 each year to maintain our fleet of minibuses, to provide the input of qualified health professionals and to update and renew premises and equipment. To do this, we operate three charity shops, and rely on donations from trusts and foundations, companies, individuals and organisations in the community.
