The Partnership for Food Traceability (PFT), launched in collaboration with the FDA, is the only independent forum that brings all parts of the supply chain together to define a shared industry vision for food traceability and make critical implementation decisions.
PFT focuses on defining consensus business and functional requirements for traceability. This adds predictability and efficiency to industry's implementation, gives clarity to technology vendors as to how interoperability can be achieved, and brings together all ongoing efforts related to traceability into a single overarching vision.
PFT's work will accomplish an array of objectives, including: delivering a common vision for traceability across sectors, industries, associations, and consortia; creating a forum for technical implementation discussions between the industry and the FDA; establishing a consistent set of business and functional requirements for traceability that provides clarity to solution providers and ensures solutions meet business needs; instituting a decision-making mechanism for critical questions of how traceability should be implemented; and form an organized public-private plan for how the industry will migrate to enhanced traceability.
