In 1914, Charles H. Pajeau filed the patent for what later became known as Tinker Toys. The critical piece of his invention: “Part W” - a round spool with holes drilled on the face and around the perimeter all arranged so that when connected to the set’s wooden sticks they formed perfect 90-degree triangles. This ingenious application of the Pythagorean theorem fortified and secured the structures created from the set’s many pieces, allowing for effortless creativity and endless possibilities.
