Passages Centre for Self-Directed Learning

We are a hybrid of public school and homeschool. Education is about exploration, curiosity and preserving the love of learning. We operate from a strengths-based approach and support the learners to heal from negative learning experiences and value who they are, without judgement or an ableist perspective. We mentor them to identify what they’re good at and help them break down the steps to achieve their goals. There can be a sense among young people that learning has to be hard, painful and ultimately avoided - we’ve found that all young people want to learn, but sometimes the system they’re in doesn’t help them succeed. We are an alternative.
