PATHFOOD

PATHFOOD is an international research project focused on developing a sustainable production chain for selenium-enriched functional food. Our mission is to support public health, promote climate neutrality, and contribute to the European Union's strategic goals for sustainable development and socioeconomic growth. The project aims to enhance the nutritional value of food by increasing selenium content through innovative cultivation and food processing methods. We focus on making selenium more bioavailable, ensuring that its benefits reach consumers in a safe and effective way. Our research combines advanced analytical techniques with sustainable farming practices to create food products that are both health-promoting and environmentally friendly. Our Partners The PATHFOOD project is coordinated by the University of Warsaw and brings together a strong consortium of leading institutions, including the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, the Italian National Research Council – Institute for Biological Systems (CNR-ISB), and the consulting firm REDINN SRL. This collaboration enables knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and the pursuit of research excellence across Europe.
