PATTERNBASE is an experimental surface print & textile design studio based in Chicago. Founded by Kristi O’Meara in 2011, PATTERNBASE specializes in designing unique, trend-driven prints for a variety of clients, ranging from emerging designers to large retail brands. Our work blends traditional art making processes with futuristic design trends to create innovative, original artworks that celebrate craft while embracing advancements in technology and digital design. Our work is inspired by fashion, art history, nature, and internet culture. About The Founder: Kristi O'Meara is an illustrator & multidisciplinary designer based in Chicago. She received her bachelor of fine arts in 2009 from the Kansas City Art Institute, where she studied painting, design & fiber arts. Kristi released her first publication, The Pattern Base: Over 550 Contemporary Textile and Surface Designs through Thames & Hudson Publishing in 2015. Her work has been featured in Chicago Magazine, IdN, Cool Hunting, CS | Modern Luxury, and Dutch Elle, among others.
