The Chinese University of Hong Kong Professor Charles K. Kao Scholars Association

To pay tribute to Professor Sir Charles K. Kao for his achievements and innovation in science and technologies and to commemorate his being awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics 2009, the University has set up the Charles K. Kao Scholarship Endowment Fund through private donations. Professor Sir Kao was the Vice-Chancellor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong from 1987 to 1996. He has spared no efforts in promoting and motivating creativity and innovation among students and within the University. The Committee on the Charles K. Kao Scholarship Endowment Fund has resolved that part of the Fund would be used to set up a Student Creativity Award Scheme with effect from the academic year 2010/11 and part of the Fund will be used to award scholarships for summer research exchange programmes.
