PCMS | Prague Centre for Media Skills

Prague Centre for Media Skills (PCMS) is an international group of professionals committed to fostering fair, democratic, and well-informed societies. Our mission is to advance interdisciplinary dialogue on communication, media, technology and their impact on society. By encouraging news media development and providing training and opportunities for professional dialogue across borders, we leverage our unique experience to help drive systemic change. PCMS Chair, Frank Williams, began his career with BBC World Service in London. After making programs for listeners in the Soviet Union for both the BBC and Radio Liberty, he worked on broadcast journalism training programmes in Russia, Georgia, Uzbekistan and Romania. Frank has been involved in developing projects to support editors and reporters for independent media in the Caucasus, Belarus and Ukraine. He regularly shares his experience with newcomers to Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Deputy Chair, Ondřej Soukup is a seasoned reporter and analyst for Czech Public Radio, focused mainly on Russia and Ukraine and providing insights and analysis on political, social, and economic developments in the former Soviet Union. Ondřej has also worked for the Czech business newspaper Hospodařské noviny and was a project manager in the region for the Czech humanitarian aid organisation People in Need (Člověk v tísni). Projects Director, Adriana Dergam, has held a variety of roles in the media, non-governmental, public and academic sectors, as well as senior positions in business. Adriana supports the development and delivery of projects focused on communications, sustainability and innovation. PCMS Treasurer, Renata Kaňková, is a highly experienced financial reporting professional, who has worked with major Czech NGOs. Renata’s expertise in budgeting and tax reporting has proven invaluable to the success of numerous development initiatives.
