PIEAS Cyber Security Club

Cybersecurity students Club will aim to provide a space for students interested in cybersecurity to explore it alongside like-minded people - whether they already have some experience, or are discovering the subject area for the very first time. We offer opportunities for anyone to listen to talks and find out more about various cybersecurity topics, to attend workshops where they can learn technical skills such as how to avoid and spot common security flaws, to compete in CTFs together (competitions designed to present your cybersecurity skills to the world), and to share any other opportunities and resources that might be of interest, such as conferences and competitions in the wider cybersecurity community, Cultivating a community that supports students in their cybersecurity endeavors through extracurricular activities, career opportunities, mentoring, and keeping them at the forefront of cybersecurity trends. Objectives: The preliminary objectives of the Cybersecurity students club are defined as • Teach people the tools used in modern cyber security • Teach people how attacks are performed and the mechanisms behind them • Give the hands-on experience of attacks and defenses in a controlled environment • Create awareness of cybersecurity through periodic events • To run and manage a CTF team to compete in competitions • Discuss the latest security threats and mitigations
